What the Power of Prayer Can Do For God to Turn Evil For Good (Part 2 of Katie Sprague’s Story)
Katie is back for part 2 of her story. If you haven't listened to part 1, go back to episode 45 & listen. It is all about her traumatic loss and how it led her to the start of her rainbow miracle.
Part 2 is her testimony about how God can turn evil for good. The doctors recommended termination of pregnancy and said the baby would not be viable. She trusted God for a miracle and oh did, he came through.
Between lots of tears, laughter & even the lawn mowers in the background, Katie is such a good story teller & her stories are very detailed.
This episode is heavy but has multiple blessings throughout with God's hand on them the whole time. I suggest not listening to it with little ears.
If you are going through a dark time & not knowing what is happening or what is next, this is a great story to be able to relate to & see how powerful the power of prayer really is.

Meet the Yanez Team (Part 1)- All about Parenting
My special guest today is... my husband, Jared!!!! Today is our 8 year wedding anniversary, what better way to celebrate than having him on the podcast. Our conversation was so good, I had to break it down into two episodes.
This is Part 1 of Meet the Yanez Team!
Today we talk about parenting and what we "thought" parenting would be like and how it "really" is.
When your child's personality is different from yours, you are stretched to learn and adapt in your way of thinking and teaching. Jared shares how this has helped him be a better person in learning to be more open-minded.
Jared and I have two totally different personalities and we share how we have learned to focus on each other's strengths in order to parent and work as a team.
Parenting is hard & we are not afraid to talk about our mess-ups. This episode is great to hear a Dad's perspective on parenting.
How Therapy Has Helped Me Become A Better Mom
Therapy has this big stigma around it that like if you go to therapy, you are crazy and you're weak.
Most people that are going to therapy are not weak because they know they need some help. I think it’s really strong and courageous that they are putting themselves out there and actually going for it.
Every day we wake up; we have something to learn and something that we can grow from. God's plan is greater than we could ever imagine. So this is my belief, my journey, and why I believe in it.
The biggest took away and the biggest thing I learned about myself in therapy, is I was struggling with being a perfectionist. My standards for myself and my child were so high, not realistic, I felt like I was failing every day, all day long.
In this episode, I share my journey through therapy & how it has helped me become a better mom, wife & woman. I share the NUMBER ONE TIP I LEARNED & how it will help you as well! We are not meant to do life alone. Listen to my story here.
Hating Pregnancy, Doesn’t Make You a Bad Mom w/ Allie Schwartz
Allie Schwartz is a mom to Aiden. Aiden is eight months old now. She's been married for two and a half years. She's just a normal mom trying to survive motherhood, & saving money for her kids' therapy.
In this episode, we talk about a "controversial topic". Hating being pregnant! A lot of people are afraid to talk about this topic in fear of being judged as a "bad mom". Allie dives right in and she is brutally honest. I think that we need a little bit more of that or just a safe place or person to be able to come to and talk about how you really feel.
Not liking being pregnant, doesn't make you not want your baby. It doesn't make you a bad mom.
She also talks about mourning her past life, her old life, pre-baby, and how she's adjusting to the new baby life. She shared with us her experience with her placenta pills, and how it helped her with postpartum and anxiety.
She shares advice about sleeping & going with your mama gut.
This is a great episode, especially if you are scared to get pregnant, not excited about pregnancy, or you're grieving the life before baby. It is real and honest.
Baby & Infant Sleep Schedules & Sleep Regressions w/ Baby Sleep Consultant Emma Purdue
Baby & Infant Sleep Schedules & Sleep Regressions w/ Baby Sleep Consultant Emma Purdue
Emma Purdue is a baby sleep consultant in New Zealand, babies, and their sleeping habits are her passion. After nearly 10 years of helping mothers get their babies off to sleep she has lost count of the number of people she has helped.

In this episode, she explains new born's sleeping patterns & how their brains are wired, placing a factor. We talk about a huge topic every mom stresses about & how we make it more stressful than it needs to be, by reading & downloading apps that tell us exactly how it should be... it's Sleep Regressions!
We also dive into the judgment of sleep training & self-soothing. She is even an expert in toddlers & how to prevent them from yo-yo-ing back and forth from the bed into the hallway. What I would have done to hear this episode 6 years ago when I was a new mom.
Overcoming Postpartum Salt by Seeing the Light in Motherhood w/ Lindsey Goodyear
Overcoming Postpartum Salt by Seeing the Light in Motherhood w/ Lindsey Goodyear
Lindsey Goodyear is a wife, and a mama to a sweet, 2-year-old named Jackson with their second due in May! She is a part-time nurse practitioner and a full-time Southern mama born and raised in South Louisiana.
After giving birth to her son, she struggled with the transition into motherhood. She had significant postpartum anxiety. She set unrealistic expectations for herself & felt victimized by comparison. She was exhausted. Overwhelmed. & she had just lost her joy and felt like a complete failure as a mom.
She kept thinking, “I cannot be the only one struggling with this.” So she started reaching out to friends, talking openly about the challenges she was facing, and tackling issues head-on with therapy. The more she talked, the more she discovered that, in fact, she was NOT the only one. SO MANY of the women she talked to were struggling with the same issues and were feeling unfulfilled in motherhood as well.
She created the Salt & Light Motherhood Co. as a safe place to discuss motherhood- REAL motherhood- not the filtered version we usually see on social media. She values authenticity, vulnerability, and honesty and strives to celebrate the individual motherhood journey that each mama takes on. All while simultaneously providing her with the support, education & resources she needs to empower her to CONFIDENTLY make decisions, step into her role as a mother, & rest on the path she has chosen for herself and her family.
In this episode, we talk about her postpartum anxiety journey and how she is still working on it daily. She shares how marriage has changed after kids but how they still keep their marriage strong. She gives advice to the mamas struggling with postpartum, perfectionism & letting go of control.
This is a great REAL conversation!
