Jenny Frick is a Reading Specialist/Instructional ELA Coach, she provides private tutoring out of my home a few hours a week, and she has a BA in Elementary Education. After graduation, she began working in Houston as a first-grade teacher in 1995. This is her 28th year of teaching and has experience teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in ELA but has the most experience teaching first grade and as a Reading Specialist/Interventionist with K-4 graders.
In 2012 she received her M.Ed. in Reading and holds a State Reading Specialist certification and is Dyslexia trained. I am married with two teenagers, she enjoys reading, watching Netflix, listening to music and podcasts, and exercising outdoors.
Today I will just be asking a bunch of questions all of us moms have wondered about or asked for information at one time or another. Letting Go of the Christmas and New Year’s Expectations
Thinking about adding more activities to my to-do list feels overwhelming.
I know most mamas are just trying to survive motherhood & by adding the holiday expectations on top, this time of year gets very overwhelming.
In this episode, I encourage you to let go of the expectations, the perfection, & the stress the holidays bring & remember the reason for the season.
Letting boundaries & saying no to things that don't matter the most to your family will help decrease the overwhelm. Embrace the imperfections of the holiday break. Enjoy the things that truly matter.
After Christmas is over, we go straight into expectations of the New Year. New Year, New You? Don't put pressure & unrealistic expectations on yourself.

The journey to motherhood was not easy for this mama. After 4 years of trying, getting pregnant & not being able to hold the pregnancy. Amanda searched high and low for answers.
